Looking for even more ways to save money on household essentials? Look no further than the seasonal P&G rebate offers!

In a Nutshell:

Proctor and Gamble (P&G) run periodic rebate offers on their name brands to give you money back on household items. To claim the rebate, you need to upload a picture of your receipt and fill out an online submission form. You can submit 1-2 rebate per household depending on the promo. Money back is given via prepaid Visa card sent in the mail. Sam’s Club and Costco also run P&G promotions but these have different spending thresholds and return money in the form of warehouse gift cards.

I’ve been dabbling in couponing even before we became a single income household, so I first heard of the P&G rebate a few years ago from my favorite YouTube couponer, Jodi M Dunn. Since then, I’ve tried to use this offer whenever I see it come up! I just received another $15 Visa in the mail this week so I thought I’d take the time to share my experience using the P&G rebate with you!

What is the P&G Rebate?

The P&G Rebate is a money back offer for buying certain Proctor and Gamble Brands during a specified time frame. Usually these rebates are “get $15 when you spend $50″ or ” get $5 when you spend $20″. Because P&G own so many common brands, it’s usually easy to get to the $50 expenditure. You can submit 1 rebate per household. Once you buy the products, you can submit a form to get money back in a pre-paid Visa card.

While I usually like to stick to cheaper generic brands, I do find that some name brand products are just better quality. Personally, I prefer Bounty paper towels, Cascade dishwasher detergent, and Gain laundry detergent to their off-brand counterparts. I do still try and use coupons or rebates for these to avoid paying full price. In the last rebate offer I spent $58.06 on Cascade ($19.94), Bounty ($22.18), and Gain ($15.94) at Walmart and received a $15 Visa in the mail.

How to Claim a P&G Rebate

Before you go to the store, make sure you look at what brands are included in the rebate offer. P&G owns many brands, but not all of them are included. Once you decide what items you want to buy to get to your $50 or $20 spending threshold, go ahead and purchase your items in person or online. You can use coupons and discounts in your transaction but the rebate applies to the price paid after coupons and discounts and before taxes. Make sure you keep your receipt.

To claim your P&G rebate offer, you need to upload a picture of your receipt and fill out this form online. The form asks you where you purchased your items, how much they cost, and the UPC code for each item. Once you input this information into the form, you can submit it. P&G will let you know via email if your rebate has been accepted and then you will automatically get a prepaid Visa for either $5 or $15 in the mail. Unfortunately I’ve noticed that it does take about 4-6 weeks to receive the physical Visa card in the mail.

Online Orders

On my last rebate offer I ordered online for pickup from Walmart and did not get a physical receipt. Instead, I screenshot pictures of my purchase order including the items pertinent to the rebate and the final total of the purchase. The P&G rebate submission form does not allow you to upload more than 5 pictures so only upload pictures of the relevant items. I did this incorrectly my first time and was denied but when I tried again, I was approved!

P&G Rebates for Costco and Sam’s Club

P&G runs a similar program with Costco and Sam’s Club but the major difference is that the money back is returned for a gift card to either Sam’s Club or Costco instead of a pre-paid Visa. They also have different spending thresholds. Check out this offer below for Costco’s P&G promotion. These are for “spend $200, get $50” and “spend $100, get $25” back in a gift card or “shop card”. Costco and Sam’s Club have their own submission forms for their P&G program and have a different customer service team than regular P&G rebates.

Have you ever gotten money back with the P&G Rebate offer? What did you buy with to reach your spending threshold?
