I’m always on the lookout for affordable snacks for my family. Recently I stumbled upon these peanut butter protein balls and the boys and I have been loving them! They’re super easy with only 3 ingredients, they take only 10 minutes to make, and they only dirty 1 bowl. Does it get any better than that?
It does! These energy balls are so simple, that the kids love helping make them, so our snacks now double as an activity for the day too. Plus they’re easy to eat with only one hand. That means the kids can eat them without making a mess, you can grab one as you run out the door, or you can enjoy one while you nurse the baby! These 3 ingredient protein balls are the total package!

Ingredients in Peanut Butter Protein Balls
- Oats: I like to use Old Fashioned Oats for more texture but quick oats are just fine too!
- Honey: To sweeten and stick everything together
- Peanut Butter: For protein and delicious flavor! Use creamy or crunchy, whatever you have on hand!
- Optional Mix-ins: These Peanut butter protein balls are delicious with just 3 ingredients, but you could also add raisins, mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, protein powder, coconut, or chia seeds, for more flavor or nutrients!

How to Make Peanut Butter Protein Balls
As promised, this is an easy to follow recipe that you’ll be able to make from memory over and over!
- Mix oats, honey, and peanut butter in a medium-sized bowl. You can add any additional mix-ins you’d like during this step!
- Use a spoon to scoop out 1.5-2 Tbsp at a time and roll into a ball with your hands. This can get messy!
- Make 12 equal-sized balls and put them into the fridge for 1 hour to solidify. You can skip this step if you want to eat them right away, but refrigerating them will make them less sticky and easier to eat!

- 1½ Cup Old Fashioned Oats
- ½ Cup Honey
- ½ Cup Peanut Butter
Instructions
- Mix oats, honey, and peanut butter together in medium sized bowl
- Using a spoon, scoop out 1½-2 Tbsp at a time and roll into a balls
- For best results, let the protein balls sit for 1 hour in the fridge to solidify before eating.
