Pour the water, yeast, and sugar into the bread machine
Beat egg into melted butter then add into bread machine
Add bread flour and salt into bread machine
Set bread machine to the "dough" setting and press start
When the cycle is finished, pour out dough onto a floured surface
Divide dough into 8 equal pieces
Roll buns into balls by stretching the dough from top to bottom to create a smooth top with seams on the bottom. Transfer to a greased baking sheet keeping each bun about 2 inches apart.
Cover the buns and allow them to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
When buns have risen, brush tops with an egg wash.
Bake buns at 350℉ for 20-24 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
It's important to separate the salt from the yeast in your bread machine to keep it from killing the yeast and lessening the rise of your final product. I recommend adding salt last.My bread machine's dough setting is a 1-hour, 30-minute run time
